Sundays collects, cleans and returns your laundry in Oxford. To do that we need some details about you. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, who sees it and what you can ask us to do with it. Sundays is a trading name of Leathwaite Group, which is the controller of your personal data. Questions go to hello@getsundays.co.uk.
What we collect
- Your account: name, email address, mobile number and password (stored securely by our login provider; we never see it). If you reset your password we email you a one-time code.
- Addresses and bookings: collection and return addresses, postcode, collection and return windows, how you'd like the bag handed back (in person, concierge or safe place), any instructions you give us, and your order history.
- Photos and weights: your driver photographs the scale and the bag at your door, and our team may photograph items at check-in, so you and we have a record of what was collected and its weight.
- Your wardrobe, if you use it: photos of garments and care labels, brand, size, fabric and how often you wear and clean each piece. When you snap a care label, the photo is sent to an AI service to read the label and suggest care. It only reads the label; it doesn't identify you.
- Female driver verification, if you ask for it: a photo of your ID, a proof of address and a face photo (selfie). A member of our team reviews them to confirm the request. Only you and Sundays admins can see them.
- Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details; Sundays never sees or stores your full card number. We keep a record of what you paid and when, including tips and Sundays Club membership.
- Messages and support: chat messages on your orders, support and claims requests, and our replies.
- Preferences: care preferences (for example detergent and how shirts come back), your weekly routine and storage requests.
- Referrals: your referral code, who referred you and which referrals earned a reward.
- Area notification sign-ups: if you're outside our area and ask to hear when we arrive, your name, postcode, email, mobile number and whether you want email or text updates.
- Your location, only if you tap "detect my location": your browser shares your position once, and we look up the nearest postcode. We keep the postcode, not your position.
- Notifications: whether you've allowed Sundays notifications on your device.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To provide the service you book (contract): collecting, weighing, cleaning and returning your items, pricing your order, taking payment, keeping you updated and handling support or claims.
- Female driver requests (your consent): we only check your documents because you asked for a female driver, and you can withdraw that request at any time.
- Wardrobe and care reminders (contract, as a feature you choose to use).
- Area notifications (your consent): we only contact you about Sundays reaching your area, by the channels you chose.
- Records we must keep (legal obligation): payment and accounting records.
- Keeping Sundays safe and working (legitimate interests): preventing fraud and misuse, checking weights and item counts, and improving the service.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Our drivers and partner cleaners, who see what they need to collect, clean and return your order (for example your name, address, instructions and the items).
- Stripe, our payment provider, for card payments and Sundays Club billing.
- Lovable Cloud (built on Supabase), which hosts our app, database, login and file storage.
- Our AI provider, through Lovable's AI gateway, to read care labels you photograph.
- postcodes.io, only when you tap "detect my location", to turn your position into a postcode.
- Professional advisers, insurers or authorities, where we need to for a claim or by law.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
- Your account details, addresses, wardrobe and preferences: while your account is open.
- Order, payment and accounting records: for as long as the law requires (usually six years). If you delete your account, we remove your name, phone number, address and notes from these records.
- Order photos, messages and support requests: as long as we need them to deal with your order and any claim about it.
- Female driver verification documents: only as long as needed for your female driver requests. Email hello@getsundays.co.uk and we'll delete them.
- Area notification sign-ups: until we reach your area and let you know, or until you ask us to stop.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your data (you can delete your account yourself in the app, under Account)
- restrict or object to how we use it
- send your data to you or another provider in a usable format
- withdraw any consent you've given, such as for area notifications or a female driver check
Email hello@getsundays.co.uk and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and storage
Sundays uses your browser's storage only for things the service needs: keeping you signed in, remembering a referral code you arrived with and saving your progress. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change matters to you.
